Expanse Leggings
Look, this is a long ass description for a pair of leggings. But a lot of thought that prioritized lived experience in a plus-size body went into these leggings. So I want to make sure our customers understand all the ways that unique perspective informed the design and construction of the product:
The leggings were developed on a sample size 3X or 22/24.
Our graded measurements are based on the fullest fit model silhouette available.
The wide, high-rise waistband of the leggings is reinforced to reduce shifting and rolling.
The back waistband is slightly pointed to reduce pulling and tightness on the backside. It wasn't an aesthetic choice, but we've been told this contouring also nicely accentuates the peach. You're welcome!
We chose to use a diamond gusset to improve range of motion and avoid the dreaded ahem dromedary metatarsal effect.
We use flat lock seams for durability, support, and comfort.
We take pockets very seriously, so we gave you three: one on each hip and another on the back waistband.
To accommodate as many bodies as possible, we chose a 7/8 length inseam.
But we knew that a fantastic design could only get us so far, though. We also understand that the fabric of a garment can really affect how it performs. It took some searching, but we finally found our unicorn.
The fabric is a 250gsm textile, which is a higher weight than most "standard" leggings.
It has a soft, sleek finish and doesn't feel heavy or hot.
The fabric is engineered specifically for active use and wicks moisture quickly.
It offers four-way, fully opaque/squatproof stretch with medium support.
The fabric is 75% recycled nylon and 25% spandex. It will comfortably hug your body and retain its shape.
For those with ethics and sustainability in mind, it is Oeko-Tex certified.
And if you hate high maintenance clothes as much as I do, you'll appreciate that it is fully machine launderable (wash AND dry).
